First Year Football

2007 is my first year in football and it's fun. It does take a lot of self-confidence and toughness. Some parts of it I don't like but most of it I do.
Playing on a real team is so much different than playing in the backyard or watching it. You have to be ready for anything to happen.
There is one drill that you can say I hate. There are three people in front of you (you are the ball-runner) you run get tackled by the first guy, you get tackled by the second guy, and then the third. I especially hate it when I have to go up against big guys that are 5'6 and weigh 200 lbs.
The games are totally different than the practices. The games are just flat out fun. I play cornerback so I make several tackles. I played in a tournament last weekend. We lost every game but it was still fun. I made some tackles here and there but I didn't get every one that came my way.
Last night my team scrimmaged an older team. I went helmet to helmet with one guy. Here's how. I was playing corner and I had someone on me. He went out for a pass. Someone else went out for a pass also on my side. That "someone else" got the ball. I went after him and he slammed into my helmet. I got him down but it hurt . My teammate helped me up and I got tons of high-fives.
This really only goes for boys, if you ever get the chance to play tackle-football play it.

Why Noams?

I named my blog Noams because it was a nickname at school. It's stuck with me ever since. Some kids took some letters off a project/poster I made and spelled out Noams. I kind of like it. It's not the nickname I would choose but I like it better than my regular name. I guess if my nickname and real name were switched I would like I would like my real name better. In my opinion, I think it's crazy that people like being called other names (I guess I am also calling myself crazy). Iguess that's just the world that we live in.
