True Christmas

The reason I named this blog true Christmas is because I wanted to blog about keeping the Holidays true to Jesus. During Christmas it gets stressful because you you don't have presents for anybody and there is still ten days until Christmas. Christmas was not made to be a stressful holiday. It was made as Christ's birthday. Sure there is Santa Claus and Rudolph But we need to remember Jesus and the true meaning of the holiday.

This is some thing that I thought was neat and something I needed to blog about. Well every night we try to do a devotion.Well the other night we were having our devotion and my Dad was talking about how Jesus would get the throne of David. Well if he was going to be king then he would get the kingdom and the people are the kingdom. So we are presents to Jesus as well as he is to us. If you would like the reference it is Luke 1:32.

The Answer, and a Little bit of Christmas

OK I know I probably got put on the naughty list for this but I found one of my Christmas presents. It was a puzzle that I got from Baltimore (scroll down the page to read about that) and my parents were going to have it framed. My Mom was pretty mad but she said that was just the one she was most excited about and that she overreacted.

Today we finally got our tree up and thankfully I am done with my parents gifts! I can't wait for Christmas.

The Beach?!

Yes it is December and yes my family and I just got back from the beach a couple of days ago! I had a blast! We went to a place called Patriots Point (I will do a whole other blog on that!). And we did a little bit of surfin' and swimmin' (I'm kidding about surfing but we did do the jump into the pool and get out as fast as you can thing)! My favorite part was going down to the beach and playing in the sand. We had "World War Three"! We did this by building sand castles and pelting them with sand balls! We also went to Fort Moultry. I have always loved that place until' now because my Mom made me read a bunch of signs. I mean really don't we learn enough by just using our eyes! I'm just messing with you Mom. Now back to Fort Moultry. Now I know you wouldn't want to get hit by a cannon ball what so ever but this one you wouldn't want to get hit by even if you were in heaven. The cannon ball weighed over 300 pounds and took two 25 pound bags of gun powder to fire it!!! Hey I learned that by reading a sign! You may not think the beach is fun in the winter but it actually is!

History

Now when we usually think about history we think of it as "boring". Well today I did some history that was actually fun! We went to John Sevier's home in Marble Springs. We learned some pretty interesting things. I learned that in the Revolutionary War John Sevier commanded more soldiers than George Washington! And he actually started the town of Marble Springs.

Now this was actually a thing to get volunteers to work there so we did some things that they would do to train you. We learned how to start a fire (without using matches or lighters) and we also got to use axes to chop some wood (my four year old brother got to use a hatchet on the log). For lunch we had gruel (actually beef stew) that was actually pretty good!

Just One Peek

This Blog is about something I did yesterday. I am so glad that today is today because yesterday I got a glimpse of something that I shouldn't have gotten a glimpse of! See if you can guess what I saw! Almost every child will see one of these but won't tell anyone. I may have given a little to much info already. It could be really anything but whatever it is it is always hidden. Leave a comment on your guess and later I will tell!

Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving was awesome! Not only was the turkey delicious, but the Tennessee Tucky game was fantastic! I can't wait to see Tennessee whoop LSU's tail in the SEC championship! I guess I'm getting a little sidetracked. That's the norm for me. My family and I went to my Dad's Dad's house in Sumter, South Carolina. My favorite part was seeing my cousin Betsy (left). I loved playing with her.

On Friday, we went to see a brick with my Dad's name on it in front of a baseball stadium where he used to play. It was neat but you could tell the stadium was pretty old because the name of the stadium was supposed to be on the stadium but two or three had fallen off!
I loved getting to spend some time with my family and I hope that I have an even better Thanksgiving next year!

Thankfulness

I know it's not Thanksgiving yet, but I'd like to blog about what I'm thankful for. Normally we just think about the turkey and how good it's going to be and getting to see family and all that. We really don't think about why Thanksgiving was started and we just say Thanksgiving and don't think about it's meaning. We don't realize how blessed we are just to even have family or to even live in America. Living in America we can’t imagine not having what we need and usually we whine and complain about not getting what we want!

There are so many things I am thankful for. I am very thankful to God for being raised in a Christian family. I can not be more thankful for my parents, the love the give me, and every thing else they give me. I am also thankful for my brothers who give me lots of love and straighten me up when I need to be straightened up. I’m very thankful for all of my family. I am also thankful for all my friends especially two of them. Their names are Colby and Andrew. They're my two very best friends. Another thing I am thankful for is deodorant. My Mom would not be able to live if I didn't have that. Just kidding! What are you thankful for?

Your Preferance

Is there anything that anybody would like me to blog about? Leave a comment and I might blog about that.

FCA Banquet

Several nights ago I went to the FCA Banquet. It was neat. They had a real good/fancy dinner. We had salad, chicken, bread, broccoli, noodles, and the best dessert I've ever had. My favorite part of the dinner was the salad. I guess it's just because I really like the taste of salad dressing.

I went to the banquet with my brother and my grandfather. You may know my grandfather because he knows a lot of people. I got to meet a former linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons, a former pitcher for the New York Yankees, and a Alan Williams a sports reporter.

The main speaker was Tom Osborne. He talked about how a verse in the Bible said to get everything out of our way so that we can be ambassadors for Christ. Heres a video of one way to do it.

I hope that no one will go around the neighborhood using the evangelism linebackers techniques.

What Will You Ask?

Heres a blog that my Dad told me to blog about, and I think it will be interesting. Well one night we were sitting at the table and my Dad said," I finally know what I want to ask God when I get to heaven." Then I said," What?" Then he said," I want to know why we can't tickle our selves."

One day my Mom and my neighbor were talking and my Mom was telling a story about when she was in Savannah, Georgia. In Savannah (probably many other places in the world too) there are bugs called Palmetto Beetles. Two things you need to know. Palmetto Beetles are very large and ugly (unless your alien), and my neighbor hates bugs. Well anyway my Mom was telling the story and it had those, excuse me but I need to go puke. Okay well my Mom was telling a story and it had those beetles in it. Well our neighbor said," Yeah when I get to heaven I'm gonna have a talk with God and ask him why he made those things."

I am going ask god why we can remember only certain things from when we were 0-4 years old. I mean didn't we have brains when we were babies. Mommy I want my bottle.

Cades Cove

Last Saturday my family and I went to Cades Cove. It was amazing! Our friends church goes to Cades Cove evey year and has a church service in one of the churches there. First we just played around in and near the creek. Now it was too cold to actually get in the water, but out of the kids in our family 75% of them fell in meaning three of the kids in our family fell in the water and one of those kids was me (just so you know I was the first one to fall in). It was forty degrees outside. Now if that didn't make you feel bad for me this will. I had to walk around in a tank-top. Thankfully they had fires so I could heat up.

The church was what I was really calling amazing. This church was 140 years old and you could still see handprints in the ceiling from where the men had put there hands. There handprints showed because not all the wood was dry yet. I also learned some thing rather interesting. Is what happened is there was a fight. One side of the fight was on one side of the church and the other on the other side. There was a constable there and all of a sudden the foundation of the church shifted and a crack went down right in between the two sides of the arguement. The preacher said they settled that arguement pretty quick and I'm sure they did.

Baltimore

Several weeks ago I went to Baltimore, just my Dad and me. He wanted to talk to me about growing up. Well that's not the topic of this blog. Baltimore was awesome.

The only bad thing about it was that I had a broken finger. Yes Moms, football can get pretty rough. I had two fingers taped together. I know right now some of you are thinking "Boo Orioles." Well F.Y.I, they played the Red Sox and whooped them 11-5 Orioles.

As you can tell by the pictures I really like hats. "I want you to join the U.S. army." "Ready to bat Crabby?"

One activity we did before the game was board a Civil War ship called the Constellation. It wasn't very pretty seeing the food they had to eat and the tools the surgeon would have used to amputate and other things you may not want to know. Even though it may not have been so fun to eat the food and go get a check-up it would have been fun to sleep in a hammock during the night and feel the ship sway back and forth. Another rather interesting place was the captains quarters. Only the captain and other special people on the ship had their own bathroom. The others just went wherever they felt like it. No not really. Really all the captain had was a toilet, a bathtub, a bed, and a desk. Put this next on your "Must do before I die" list. Go, to, Baltimore!

First Year Football

2007 is my first year in football and it's fun. It does take a lot of self-confidence and toughness. Some parts of it I don't like but most of it I do.
Playing on a real team is so much different than playing in the backyard or watching it. You have to be ready for anything to happen.
There is one drill that you can say I hate. There are three people in front of you (you are the ball-runner) you run get tackled by the first guy, you get tackled by the second guy, and then the third. I especially hate it when I have to go up against big guys that are 5'6 and weigh 200 lbs.
The games are totally different than the practices. The games are just flat out fun. I play cornerback so I make several tackles. I played in a tournament last weekend. We lost every game but it was still fun. I made some tackles here and there but I didn't get every one that came my way.
Last night my team scrimmaged an older team. I went helmet to helmet with one guy. Here's how. I was playing corner and I had someone on me. He went out for a pass. Someone else went out for a pass also on my side. That "someone else" got the ball. I went after him and he slammed into my helmet. I got him down but it hurt . My teammate helped me up and I got tons of high-fives.
This really only goes for boys, if you ever get the chance to play tackle-football play it.

Why Noams?

I named my blog Noams because it was a nickname at school. It's stuck with me ever since. Some kids took some letters off a project/poster I made and spelled out Noams. I kind of like it. It's not the nickname I would choose but I like it better than my regular name. I guess if my nickname and real name were switched I would like I would like my real name better. In my opinion, I think it's crazy that people like being called other names (I guess I am also calling myself crazy). Iguess that's just the world that we live in.
